Profile: History

Deltomed Laboratories began as a home industry in Banjarmasin, south Borneo, producing herbal medicines from natural plant extracts. Strongpa, a powerful sexual stimulant and Virgitab a solution to feminine problems were sold in the form of capsules. As popularity and demand grew, production capacity had to be increased. Deltomed was relocated to a 1 ha land in Wonogiri, central Java to meet the growing demand.

By 1977, two new products namely Pil Ampuh and Antingin were added. Both products are readily available in the form of capsules or pills. Pil Ampuh is used for joint pains and stiffness while Antingin alleviates cold and flu symptoms. For the next 10 years, Deltomed continued to release many products to treat various ailments: Pil Tuntas for menstrual problems, Rapet Wangi for feminine problems Ramping Jelita for losing weight, Deltore for diarrhea, Deltorah for blood cleansing, Deltogin for kidney stones, Sakit Perut for stomachache, Sariawan for mouth sores, Deltodin for cough and Deltoslim as a diet aid.

Strong demand for Deltomed products across the archipelago led to new investment in production facilities, modern machinery and laboratory equipments. By 1987, production capacity has tripled and the workforce increased to 250 staffs. The company also underwent restructuring of its management, production and marketing departments. Some products with small market share were discontinued, and because of government regulations, Strongpa and Antingin were renamed Srongpas and Antangin respectively.

In the 90s, in order to ensure that only superior raw materials are used in our products, Deltomed began acquiring agriculture land all over Indonesia for growing plants and herbs (Currently we own 200 ha of land). We also invest in new packaging technology such as the automatic capsule machine, strip and seal machine from Germany as well as catchcover and blister machines. Deltomed’s new line of products Antangin, Srongpas, Rapet Wangi, Pil Tuntas and Ramping Jelita became very well-liked and popular in their new packaging. Our production capacity multiply by 6 fold and our distributors and oulets also grow and proliferate at an unrivaled pace.

To anticipate the rise in demand and take advantage of technological advances, Deltomed invested in another 6ha of land to build a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing and R&D facilities. German extraction technology was implemented to produce high quality plant and herbal extracts. Fast and efficient Supermixer and Fluid Bed Dryer replaced old, outdated machinery. Currently, we can produce 20 000kg of tablets, 5 million kg of capsules and 5000kg of liquid products per month. Deltomed was awarded GMP certification by the Indonesian government in 2003 and certification for halal in 2002. Antangin received the Indonesian Customer Satisfaction Award in 2003 and Superbrand Award for 2 consecutive years in 2003 and 2004.

Currently, we employ 600 production and 12 laboratory staffs which include physicians, pharmacists and other skilled professionals, working together to develop superior quality herbal medicines. Recently, Naturslim- a natural weight loss pill and Kuldon Alir to treat sore throat and mouth ulcers were released. Antangin is also now available in liquid form and Naturslim came packaged in bottles.
